He's still letting it run, He's got to really as it was him who split the thread & started the whole debate & it was his title, not mine Laughing

The thread /topic is - as you say - a valid one. I get the impression ,though, that Jack would like the vitriolic side of it from certain parties - not the Post War ones - cut out and a reasoned discussion underway

That's not going to happen with the attitudes of the Stevens bros.

Had to look up the word Vitriolic Embarassed

Nope, never met them & can't say I want to...
ArtistsRifles

Thus far - thats understandable!! Very Happy

Don't think I'd want to right now either...........

Seems a pity though that they are so entrenched in their outlook to the point they won't consider meeting the other side half way. OK - so a re-enactment of a Red Ball convoy would seem odd with RL's etc tagging along - but that should be the exception rather, than as seems the case there, the rule.
Lets be honest - if it's big and green/sand the public will be interested. if it looks "odd" they are even more interested, if it's got a weapon their cup will overflow. A vehicles age is, I think, a secondary consideration.

Ah well - it's an imperfect world Very Happy The calendar locally seems to fill up OK without them - and on that note - is there going to be another event at the Kelvedon bunker in 2007??

trouble is these sort of people tend to be high up in most organisations including this one,so it becomes difficult to get to the things full offering.you should of been here a few years ago but thats history, but saying that these people think they are doing things in the best interest of the cause so we can't knock them for that just rechannel them or try to get them to see the bigger picture.

Just got this from Jack over on the HMV Forum

Quote:
Hi John.

Well done mate on your last reply on the PW thread. You have driven it back on tracking perfecty and have made some great points that no one can argue with.

Great debate.

Best wishes.

Jack.

Yep, it was me who made the original quote but Jack who really started the debate by noticing there was a genuine need for it & giving it's own thread..
saracenstump

this is a man you can talk to about a problem and get an adult answer it seems.
ArtistsRifles
