A fantastic Fort and they are doing a fantastic job now making people aware of the fort.

Very Happy NOW WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THOSE LETTERS TO PARLIAMENT ???
THEY CAN ONLY IGNOR US FOR SO LONG!!!!!!
lets get our hands on some of that tax money!!!
if you can get us some leaflets and vice versa im sure we could work something out through our our network

Ive been to cliffe and i sat on the torpedo thingy..

its all blocked up.. (rather disapointing after walking from gravesend.. lol

Although i did find a small room i was able to get into there.

Shame Cliffe can't be opened. A bit far fetched but it would be great to have a small ferry service between the forts in the summer. Like what they have at Dartmouth Castle. Like a small launch. Would be nice to get rid of the cement ships that park there playing 80's music full blast on a Saturday night too!  Laughing

Coalhouse Fort, East Tilbury, is run by volunteers and is always looking for new members to come along and help out. If you have a manual skill ie carpentry, painting or electrical etc or if you are just interested in historic buildings then drop us a line. Membership is £10 per year and will allow free entry to all open days. Wednesdays are work party day and you would be welcome to come along and help behind the scenes to help preserve Coalhouse Fort.
